A visit to a good garden nursery should do three things:
Inspire you with its display gardens that should utilize what the nursery has available in a creative fashion.
Educate you about plants and what they need to grow well.
Offer you a selection of plants for sale that are proven winners whether they are old favorites or the latest introductions.
Lots of local nurseries like Flower Factory, Stonewall Nursery and Enchanted Valley Gardens all fit that description perfectly. But Northwind Perennial Farm near Lake Geneva is, frankly, in a class by itself.
