Retired Denver County Judge James Urso, 80, of Denver died July 6 of kidney failure at Porter Adventist Hospital.
Services were July 12 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. The World War II veteran was honored by the Air Force at his funeral.
``I don't think he had an enemy in the world - even though he sent many people to prison,'' said former school principal John Astuno, Mr. Urso's childhood friend.
Mr. Urso was a pilot in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the second highest combat honor, and several other commendations, as well as the Purple Heart.
