YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK -- Within the steaming green, gold, blue and red thermal pools of the nation's first park is an uncharted universe of microbes.
These single-cell life forms that can thrive in acid, extreme heat and toxic brews hold the power to digest old tires, enhance the cleaning power of detergents and provide a blueprint for identifying simple creatures on other planets.
