Jul. 15--Only an anorak-clad car spotter could see what is different about the new, bigger-wheeled Volkswagen Passat W8. But you'll soon spot the difference if you try to out-accelerate it at the lights.
Then, even if you are driving a BMW 535i, a Mercedes E430 or a V8 Jaguar S-Type, the chances are you'll be left in the wake of the VW's four exhaust tailpipes.
