BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-It's a war in there.
It's a battle for vacuum cleaners to keep room air as clean as carpets and floors, and it's a battle among manufacturers claiming they do it best.
The latest development was an outside laboratory's study conducted for Eureka. "Lab officials noted that vacuum filtration has improved a great deal in recent years," Eureka said. Tests found a Eureka model spewed far less dirt into the air than two leading competitors' uprights.
