RED CROSS RUSHES TO AID HURRICANE VICTIMS

WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 250,000 residents fled their homes for the safety of Red Cross shelters as Hurricane Hugo bore down on Puerto Rico according to Red Cross disaster officials.

Described as one of the most powerful storms of the decade, Hugo has already left wide-spread damage across the islands of Guadeloupe, Antigua and Dominica in the southeast Caribbean.
