Cingular Wireless announced today that it had completed the sale of Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems' ownership interest in Cellular One Group to Western Wireless Corporation (Nasdaq: WWCA). Southwestern Bell is a subsidiary of Cingular Wireless, LLC. As a result of this transaction, subsidiaries of Western Wireless own 100 percent of the Cellular One Group, which owns, licenses and promotes nationwide the CELLULAR ONE(R) brand and related trademarks, services marks and designs.
This transaction does not affect any Cingular customers or assets. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.
