You'd think a baby would want to eat food. I know if it were me, and I'd been consuming only milk or formula for more than half a year - without even so much as a twist - I'd be eager to get my gums on something different. Peaches, say. Or a nice strained pea.
Besides - and I mean no disrespect here - what else does an 8-month-old have to do with her day? The job description isn't that hard: look cute, wave "bye-bye," pull lamps off low tables, shred any book within reach, locate and destroy the home computer, pretend to be tired but then refuse to nap.
See what I mean? The position is not so demanding. President Bush could do it, even without the help ...
