It's only a matter of time before a preventable tragedy happens near the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad cars parked between Wingra Creek in Madison and McCoy Road in Fitchburg, according to South Madison residents and community leaders who want the cars moved.

Close to 100 rail cars are lined up from Wingra Creek behind Penn Park through the town of Madison under Badger Road and south of the Beltline to Highway 14. Another string of rail cars is parked from Highway 14 west into the Nine Springs E-Way County Park in Fitchburg.
