For years, producers of synthetic vitamins have been saying that they're as good as the natural ones. After all, they alleged, they're all chemicals. I've disagreed with this notion in the past. Now the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) has come over to my side concerning vitamin E. An Antioxidant Panel from the NAS recently reported natural vitamin E is twice as potent as synthetic vitamin E. Why? Because the synthetic stuff contains substances your body doesn't recognize and thus can't use.
