Not only are men and women different, but also among each sex there are variations. Take menopause, for instance. It is a time of life with many changes and numerous symptoms, such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and insomnia, that can be very uncomfortable. We have studies on these symptoms, but most have been done on white women. Yet, these symptoms differ according to race and ethnicity.
A group of researchers spoke with over 16,000 women from ages 40-55 from four minorities and Caucasians to look at differences and similarities. They found that Asian women experienced primarily heart palpitations and forgetfulness. African-Americans had more hot flashes and ...
