We got a lot of responses to a reader's request for chow mein similar to that at the old Nankin. Carl Chalfen, former owner of the legendary Chinese restaurant in downtown Minneapolis, called to recommend the Red Dragon, 2136 Lyndale Av. S., Minneapolis. The Red Dragon's chef-owner, Lai Wong, was head chef at the Nankin from 1966 to 1987.
