INTERVIEW: What's the news in Europe right now?
FREDERIC SANCHEZ: Well, I just spent two weekends in Berlin and it seems that it's really the place at the moment. What's interesting is people are mixing electronic music with classical music. One group in particular, To Rococo Rot, just released a record called Music is a Hungry Ghost [Mute/City Slang] which is really beautiful. They did two tracks with Alexander Balanescu, a violinist and composer who's worked with Kate Bush. There's another artist named Robert Lippock who made a beautiful record for Noton Records, Open Close Open, where he took the music from the opera Death in Venice and completely remixed it ...
