Late Model Stock cars have been king of the road for two decades at Langley Speedway and at most other NASCAR weekly series tracks in the Southeast.
They're fast, noisy and look a lot like the cars in NASCAR's Winston Cup series.
They're also shrinking in numbers at Langley, the Hampton track that celebrated its 50th anniversary a year ago, and they could be gone as a weekly series next season.
While the Late Model Stock series remains healthy a few miles away at Southampton Motor Speedway in Capron, the division has attracted only 25 cars combined the last two weeks at Langley. Three weeks ...
