A section of Fremont Center Road near Mundelein will be shut down starting Monday as part of a plan to improve traffic flow by realigning the street.
Fremont Center Road now runs north and south between routes 176 and 60. Crews will add a westward curve to the southernmost section of the road so it intersects with nearby Gilmer Road instead.
The change should eliminate the traffic jams that are common on Fremont Center Road at Route 176, said officials with the Lake County Division of Transportation.
Getting onto Gilmer Road from Fremont Center Road should be much easier than getting onto Route 176, too, ...
