A move to force Brazil's fourth largest airline into bankruptcy will have no impact on the 5,500-acre Sol Vista and Ski Ranch in Grand County, which is owned by Marise Cipriani, daughter of the founder of the airline.
General Electric Capital Corp. is trying to force TransBrasil SA Linhas Aereas into bankruptcy in a dispute over payments on five airplanes that TransBrasil is leasing.
Cipriani's husband, Celso, took over the airline earlier this year after the death of Omar Fontana, Marise's father, who founded the airline in 1955. Today, only Vargi, TAM and VASP are larger carriers in Brazil.
