Following Balfour Beatty's 94m [pounds sterling] (US$134.4m) acquisition last year of the rail electrification and traction supply business previously owned by Adtranz (since renamed Balfour Beatty Rail Power Systems) the group has now relaunched its Malaysian business under the name Balfour Beatty Rail Sdn Bhd.
The launch of the company, undertaken with partner Multi Discovery Sdn Bhd will, according to group md of Balfour Beatty's rail business, Jim Cohen, `bring Balfour Beatty's world renowned technology and expertise to the important task of ensuring that Malaysia has a world-class railway system'.
