Jul. 27--FORT WORTH, Texas--XTO Energy, formerly Cross Timbers, said Thursday that record natural gas production during the second quarter powered record quarterly earnings of $90.5 million, or 74 cents per share.
XTO earned $1.2 million a year ago, a performance reduced by special charges.
XTO said it produced about 403 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, the heaviest concentrations coming from new properties in East Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and New Mexico. Cash flow from operations increased by 117 percent, to $125 million.
