LOS ANGELES _ Roy Jones Jr. made it look so easy Saturday night in front of 20,409 fans at the Staples Center. He landed punches from against the ropes, covered up when attacked, recorded three knockdowns and proved why he might be the best boxer in the world.
Jones, the undisputed light heavyweight champion, dominated challenger Julio Gonzalez in winning a 12-round unanimous decision.
And Jones did this with a bad knuckle on his left hand he said he injured during the first two knockdowns of the fight.
"(Gonzalez) was strong, and he had a lot of heart," said Jones, who won 119-106 on two judges scorecards and 118-107 on the third. "I had to ...
