MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers, just off an 11-game losing streak, bounced back with their second straight win Friday night, an 8-0 decision over the San Diego Padres before a below-average crowd of 29,520 at Miller Park. It was the Brewers' seventh shutout of the season.
Jimmy Haynes, who came in leading the major leagues in losses with 13, allowed five hits in seven shutout innings to pick up his seventh victory. The Brewers boosted the candidacy of another potential 20-game loser, pummeling Bobby Jones (6-13) for six runs and nine hits in three innings.
