To the editor: In our opinion, the Elk Grove Village trustees are off the mark stated in "Money no object for mayor in runway battle" (Daily Herald, 7/10). Mayor Johnson's hopes to defeat the inevitable are reminiscent of David vs. Goliath and Don Quixote. Spend $500,000 to throw stones or tilt at windmills? I don't think so.
We have lived under the O'Hare flight path for 33 years - yes, it's a nuisance, but it was here long before we were. Elk Grove Village owes many of the amenities it enjoys today due to the industrial park, located here primarily because of its convenience to O'Hare. In fact, one would think that the continued use of O'Hare as a viable airport should ...
