Two researchers claim they have a sure-fire mathematical way to predict important committee decisions and have successfully tested it on the NCAA post-season college basketball lineup.
Operations researchers B. Jay Coleman, from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, and Allen K. Lynch of Mercer University in Macon, Ga., said they can predict the NCAA Tournament Committee's selection of post-season basketball teams going to the so-called "Big Dance" with up to 97 percent accuracy.
