WASHINGTON, D.C.-Somewhere, Ed Meese must be smiling. A bitter smile, to be sure, for the former Attorney General was ultimately forced out of office on the basis of "alleged wrongdoings," the worst of which turned out to be, in the words of the special prosecutor, that Mr. Meese had failed to be "sensitive to the possibility" that he may have improperly helped out a friend. But now the accusatory spotlight has been turned on Congress itself, and it finds House Democrats scurrying for the corners with all the grace of cockroaches caught having a midnight snack on the kitchen counter.
How many bodies will be lying on the ground when it all ends is anybody's ...
