Shell Hydrogen recently announced that its chief executive officer, Don Huberts, has been elected chairman of the California Fuel Cell Partnership (CFCP) for 2002. Huberts will replace DaimlerChrysler senior vice president of fuel cells Ferdinand Panik, whose term as chairman will expire at the end of 2001.

CFCP is a collaboration of fuel providers, auto companies, fuel cell technology companies and government agencies. The group plans to demonstrate more than 70 fuel cell-powered cars and buses in California by 2003.
