HOW WE ALL LEARNED TO SPEAK ELVIS
THIS FALL ELVIS COSTELLO--the pan-pop British singer, writer, and bandleader -- will begin a yearlong term as UCLA's first artist in residence. His opening performance take place in late September at Royce Hall, with the Charles Mingus Orchestra, and the collaboration makes sense for a man who first emerged as a particularly nasty sort of Beatle fan.
