School connectedness may be the best means of preventing behavioral problems among teen-age students, according to a new study at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati.
Andrea E. Bonny, a specialist in adolescent medicine, surveyed nearly 3,500 students in grades 7 to 12 at eight public schools with troubled student populations.
She pinpointed some warning signs, including smoking, drinking and lack of interest in school activities for identifying potential troublemakers.
