Great Northern Power Development LP (Great Northern Power) today filed an application for $673,250 in matching funds from the Industrial Commission of North Dakota (ICND) to conduct a $1.3 million feasibility study for a "greenfield" mine-mouth, lignite-fired power plant on a lignite deposit in Western North Dakota. The deposits under consideration are located in Dunn, Stark, and Morton Counties. Feasibility studies would begin in the Fall of 2001, pending approval of the matching funds application.
The feasibility study is budgeted at more than $1.3 million and would be fast-tracked over a ten-month time frame. Black and ...
