Aug. 2--Sam Wyly said Wednesday that he will not continue his proxy fight for Computer Associates International Corp. if shareholders vote against his slate of directors.
But Mr. Wyly, sounding feisty as ever, said in an interview that he is not giving up, and he repeated his plan for breaking the software giant into four units and instituting a pay-for-performance management compensation program.
"Unless we're elected, we will not run a board slate again. But what's involved here is, 'Will shareholders win or lose?' "
