RED WINGS SIGN NO. 1 PICK MIKE SILLINGER
DETROIT, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Center Mike Sillinger, the Detroit Red Wings' No. 1 selection (11th overall) in the NHL Entry Draft last June, has signed a long-term contract with the club, General Manager Jim Devellano announced today.
Terms and length of the agreement were not revealed.
"Both (Coach) Jacques Demers and I were very impressed at how Mike competed in his first training camp at 18 years of age," Devellano said.
