There's no end, it seems, to the products being ported to Linux. This time, it's a cash register.
Chinese Linux house Bluepoint Linux Software has teamed up with point-of-sale hardware supplier Shenzen Sed Logic Business Equipment to develop an embedded Linux-based cash register.
The cash register would be used in a Chinese government tax control project, replacing the proverbial cash drawer no doubt.
Under the agreement, Bluepoint will provide Sed with its Embedded Development Kit, training courses, technical support, upgrades and consulting services.
