Here are two CDs aimed at the crossover market, hoping to pull in buyers who are a bit too timid to buy the straight stuff, whether that stuff be classical or jazz. Both recordings are grandiose studio-based projects that apparently had hefty production budgets behind them. After making the obvious but obligatory warning that I am going to be judging these recordings almost purely as a matter of personal taste, and disclosing that neither recording is something I would ever actually even think ...
