What we have here is more than a CD; it's a piece of history. From 1951, Moussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition was the first of Mercury's "Living Presence" recordings. Of course, it's monaural but, oh, what glorious monaural! There is some noise, to be sure, yet I doubt than anyone would notice. One is too busy admiring the sonic ...
