Jul. 31--Local tourism officials found out Monday just how big St. Patrick's Day is, even if you look at just one segment of downtown.
The economic impact -- $30 million -- is for River Street visitors alone.
The International Festivals and Events Association released results Monday from an economic impact study it did for the Savannah Waterfront Association.
The Seattle-based festivals group also found that 79 percent of revelers at the St. Patrick's Day Festival on the River were from out of town -- and shelled out $27 million.
