IR Geoffrey Mulcahy has survived attempted boardroom coups and a hostile bid during his 19 years as Kingfisher's chief executive. Now he is facing a battle with some of his own largest shareholders and he cannot expect much support from former colleagues. The retailing autocrat, 59, has never looked so alone.
