Recorded in 1974, this recording of the Carmina Burana by Andre Previn and the LSO remains my favorite. Reissued at mid price in EMI's "Great Recordings of the Century" line, it is better than ever. Two advantages: Superior sonics and a cheaper price. The audio quality is now very slightly smoother and a touch fuller. It is an analogue recording, of course, but the new Abbey Road Technology remastering removes any small edge one may have noticed in the earlier full-priced CD. None ...
