Drummer Jason Marsalis composed all the tunes on this CD, which comes with liner notes that offer brief but insightful explanations of the music. Besides Marsalis on drums and percussion, the band features John Ellis on tenor saxophone, Derek Douget on alto and soprano saxophones, Jonathan Lefcoski on piano, and Peter Harris on bass.
