You've got to admire that title. Who can resist "Murder and Mayhem"? The program consists of suites from three horror films of the '40s, The Beast With Five Fingers, The Lodger, and The Uninvited. Each film score was composed by a famous writer of film music, the first by Max Steiner, the second by Hugo Friedhofer, and the last by Victor Young. Of the three works, it is by far Young's The Uninvited that is most memorable.
