THEY were the golden couple of the equestrian world. But last night Olympic horsewoman Pippa Funnell admitted that her world is in tatters after her husband, top showjumper William Funnell, left her for a glamorous French heiress.
As a husband and wife team, they are two of Britain's best-known and most successful riders. Both young, attractive and at the top in their fields, they became ambassadors for their sport, travelling the country last year in a sellout 'Equestriana' tour.
Officially, this year's tour was cancelled because of the foot-and-mouth epidemic, but friends say the real reason was that their 'perfect' ...
