TO most people, 'Paris flea market' is synonymous with the famous Puces de Clignan court, where dealers started to congregate in the Twenties and now number 1,800.
If a flea market means, however, a place to hunt for inexpensive, if slightly battered, treasures, Clignancourt no longer fits the bill.
How could it when so many stands sell such items as Russian icons, Louis Vuitton trunks and museum-quality furniture? On a recent shopping weekend, therefore, I decided to investigate some lesser-known spots.
