Manufacturers Out To Stop Fake Hair Tonics A nationwide monitoring network has been set up to prevent racketeers from cashing in on the popularity of China's 101 Hair Regeneration Liniment.

The liniment -- claimed to have effectively restored the hair of 90 per cent of the 500,000 Chinese and foreigners who have used it -- was invented by Zhao Zhangguang, now honorary director of the International Health Promotion Tourist Centre in Beijing.

The hair liniment has been produced by three factories: in Beijing, Henan and Zhejiang provinces. They used Zhao's prescription but had been packing it in different ways, making it easier for imitators.
