2001 JUL 23 - (NewsRx Network) -- Novuspharma SpA (NO V.MT), announced that it has been granted Investigational New Drug (IND) status by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for BBR 2778, a compound for treating non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).
Following IND approval, Novuspharma will initiate dose-escalation studies with BBR 2778 in the U.S. at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, and the University of Los Angeles (California). The first study will be used to determine the safest regimen for BBR 2778 when administered in combination with cisplatin and Ara-C, a widely employed treatment for relapsed NHL.
