Let's see: Two weeks, two summer sequels to sleeper comedy hits. The originals were charming (if simple) and somewhat original takes on older formulas. They surprised us with their relative quality. And they both made a bushel of money. Which, of course, justified the sequels.

So it's no surprise that "American Pie 2" and "Rush Hour 2" feel as much like series television as big-screen movies.
