LOS ANGELES AND SAN DIEGO ECONOMIES GAIN IN FIRST QUARTER,

ACCORDING TO GRANT THORNTON, C.P.A. FIRM

LOS ANGELES, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern California's two other major metropolitan areas did in the first quarter of this year, according to an economic measure issued today by Grant Thornton, a national accounting and management consulting firm with offices here.

The Grant Thornton Index, a quarterly composite of seven equally weighted economic indicators collected for 24 major U.S. metropolitan areas, rose 0.69 points in San Diego and 0.18 points in Los Angeles in the first quarter of this year.
