If you are in the market for barrels, this might be a good time to go shopping. According to an informal Wines & Vines survey of barrel suppliers, prices are stable for the most part, with the strong dollar offsetting slight price increases in imported barrels.
Most suppliers agreed that demand was also fairly stable, except there has been some drop in demand for barrels for Chardonnay, as its supply seems to be running ahead of demand at this time.
