Dunaway sale marks end of era
MARIETTA, Ga.--Bill Dunaway says he wouldn't know how to retire, but he may have to work pretty hard to keep himself as busy as he has been all these years running Dunaway Drug Stores. With the sale of his 16-store chain expected to be completed by the middle of this month. Dunaway will be walking away from the one place he has worked since he was 13 years old.
Dunaway reached an agreement in early May to sell his family-owned business to Jack Eckerd and signed a noncompetitive clause that will require him to seek employment elsewhere for several years.
