Two of Three Medical HMOs in State Earn Money in 2006
ONCE AGAIN, HEALTH ADvantage had the highest amount of premiums in the state in 2000, and it possibly could remain that way this year.
The Little Rock health maintenance organization had $280.9 million in Arkansas premiums as of Dec. 31, according to information provided by the Arkansas Insurance Department.
In 1999, its premiums were $277.4 million, said Bob Cabe, executive vice president of legal governmental relations and communications services for Arkansas Blue Cross, which is part owner of Health Advantage.
"Those numbers are awfully close," Cabe said.
