CLEVELAND _ When Cavaliers backup point guard Bimbo Coles went down with a knee injury last season, there was trouble. Starter Andre Miller ended up playing too many minutes as deep reserves Michael Hawkins and Anthony Johnson were of little help.

The Cavs don't want that to happen again. That's why they're considering signing free-agent point guard Damon Jones, who averaged 6.5 points and 3.2 assists in 19.9 minutes last season for the Grizzlies.
