ATLANTA -- Behaviors that are characteristic of childhood attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder can mask underlying anxiety disorders and lead to misdiagnosis, Dr. Karen Dineen Wagner reported at the annual conference of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America.
In her presentation, Dr. Wagner offered several tools to help clinicians distinguish the overlapping symptoms of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other anxiety disorders.
