Aug. 17--Dallas entrepreneur Sam Wyly has scaled back his plan to take over Computer Associates, the nation's third-largest software company, and dropped his bid to become the company's chairman.
Instead of asking shareholders to replace all 10 members of the board of directors, Wyly is nominating four directors who would replace CA Chairman Charles Wang and three others.
