Developing Responsible Care

Last month, the Chemical Industries Association (CIA) launched a programme of Responsible Care for the UK chemical industry. In summary, Responsible Care is an umbrella programmed, which is attaining worldwide acceptance, designed not only to improve the performance of the chemical industry in the fields of health, safety, environment, product safety, distribution, emergency response and relations with the public, but also to enable companies to demonstrate that these improvements are in fact taking place. It is founded on commitment to a set of so-called Guiding Principles.
